Eczema is an umbrella term that encompasses several inflammatory skin conditions, such as skin rash, itching, dryness, reddening, crusting, peeling and at times, bleeding. 1. Laundry detergent that is inadvertently left behind on clothing that has been put through the wash cycle can cause irritating breakouts. In many cases individuals with this skin condition will take the time to run their clothing through a second rinse to avoid further outbreaks.
2. Some eczema sufferers have found some benefit through sun bathing. The heat of the sun kills the bacteria on the skin that is causing the eczema to spread. A little bit of sunshine may be the answer. However, don’t be out too long in the sun as dryness is often a problem for those with dermatitis.
3. Two tablespoons of molasses should be taken twice a day in a glass of milk to cure eczema. You will be able to see improvements in two weeks time.
4. Clothing that is synthetic can cause frustrating outbreaks of this skin condition. This would include garments that have been made from polyester and wool. Not only should these fabrics be avoided when prevention is used as an eczema treatment, but breakouts can also be avoided by wearing loose fitting clothing.
5. Topically, there are a number of natural products to try as a natural cure for eczema. Organic coconut oil is probably the most common and easiest to find. Honey, although sticky to work with, has been known to be a major topical antiseptic healing the lesions of this skin disease as well as others.
6. Add 2-3 teaspoon of turmeric powder to water and boil it at low flame. Remove it from heat and allow it cool a little. Wash the eczema affected area with this solution. You can also replace turmeric with margosa (neem) leaves.
7. Your diet should consist of eating antioxidant foods like blueberries, strawberries and dark greens like spinach. Avoid foods with gluten, fish and nuts.
8. Try to minimize your stress level. This might be easier said than done, but try to cut out stressful aspects in your life.
